Sage Jepson (they/them) is a compassionate actor/singer/songwriter/poet/clown from Edmonton, Canada, based in Brooklyn, NY. They hold a BFA in Musical Theater, with an Emphasis in Songwriting from Boston Conservatory at Berklee. A proud member of Actors Equity Association (AEA).
They joined the National Touring Company of SHREK as Wolf, Thelonius and Shrek u/s, under the direction of Danny Mefford (Choreographer- Kimberly Akimbo/Dear Evan Hansen) and Music Supervision by Chris Fenwick (Kimberly Akimbo/Fun Home). Sage has appeared at iconic cabaret spaces in New York, including 54 Below and most recently Green Room 42, where they did the entire Defying Gravity number in tribute to the Trevor Project. As a songwriter, you can find them performing with indie folk rock band, the cliips, as well as their solo experiment, sage jepson, out on all streaming platforms. In April 2024, Sanctuary (Book by Connor Wentworth) premiered at 54 Below, with Sage being apart of the musical collective providing music and lyrics.
The dream is to create innovative and meaningful art through inclusive storytelling. Sage wants to clown around, devise and follow impulses, whether that be inside a cardboard box, on a crowded street, or on a proscenium stage. They believe that it's crucial to uplift artists of all abilities in and outside of the rehearsal room. Sage is a Cancer sun, Aquarius moon and Leo rising. It’s important to know.
